European collaboration projects are one of the ways in which we deliver these services, in the framework of Interreg or other EU-funded programmes (LIFE, Horizon, EUI, I3 among others). Our services include the creation of business, R&D, and policy collaborations and the project management of such collaborations.

The position

We are seeking an Innovation Consultant or Project Lead (with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience) to join our EU-Programmes team with a focus on our Central & Western European clients (NL, BE, FR & DE), at our Barcelona headquarters. 

Your activities will involve the management of approved Interreg and other EU-funded collaboration projects and assisting other consultants in all stages of project execution. You will also support the development of new project initiatives. In all tasks, you will work closely with other consultants on the team. You will help define high-impact projects and ensure that proposals comply with the applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Creating new projects: Come up with innovative ideas that will bring a positive impact in solving societal challenges and translate them into operational project proposals.
  • Proposal development: In collaboration with our content experts, develop complex international projects with a specific focus on technical, legal and financial aspects.
  • Progress management: Monitor and ensure that projects are progressing in line with action plans, warn about any deviation, and work with the partners to find corrective measures.
  • Helpdesk for partners and colleagues: Support international partners and colleagues by providing answers to their questions related to the applicable programme rules and regulations.
  • Organisation of meetings and teleconferences: Schedule and prepare calls/meetings and process the follow-up actions.
  • Reporting: Analyse, prepare, and review technical and administrative documentation for project progress reports.
  • Monitoring and detection of new opportunities: Identify calls and deadlines for funding opportunities in European cross-border cooperation.
  • Preparing offers to bid in public procurement processes (tenders).
  • Reviewing internal operational processes: Suggest improvements for technical documentation or procedures for project preparation and management.

The candidates we are seeking

We seek fast-learning candidates who have an affinity with sustainability, technology, and innovation, and a strong ambition for fast professional growth in a small and highly specialised consultancy firm:

  • Background and profile: in European Studies, Project Management, International Relations or similar studies at a highly ranked university, ideally with proven experience in the management and creation of successful European-funded collaboration projects.
  • We are looking for candidates interested in European cooperation, international policy, and innovation. Also, a general understanding of local authorities’ policies, public procurement, European programmes, and regulations will be highly valued.
  • The successful candidate will have a problem-solving attitude and be especially well organised with attention to detail. They will be a great team player who enjoys helping others with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • We require work proficiency in English and at least one of the following languages: Dutch, German or French. We will especially value fluency in Dutch. Additional European languages are also a plus.
