European collaboration projects are one of the ways in which we deliver these services, in the framework of Horizon Europe or other EU-funded programmes. Our services include the creation of business, R&D, and policy collaborations and the project management of such collaborations.

The position

We are seeking a Communications Consultant to join our team at our Barcelona headquarters. 

As well as corporate communications for Bax’s channels, the communications team is involved in many collaborative initiatives (“projects”) that require coordination between several partners across Europe.

Key Responsibilities include:

Your core tasks would include (not exclusively): 

  • Communications management: Leading and/or supporting the communication and dissemination activities of several projects and managing communications teams.
  • Website design and maintenance: designing and maintaining  websites (using WordPress, Figma, and other Content Management Systems).
  • Design and visual storytelling: Preparing high-quality promotional images/graphics, including data visualisations, reports, social media graphics, infographics and website layouts/UX.
  • News/blog writing: Draft press releases and write blog posts for projects and the Bax website. Main topics planned for this role include: Healthcare, Circular Industry and Nature and Agriculture.
  • Social media: Upkeep of the Bax & Company social media accounts, as well as supporting output for project-specific accounts.

The candidates we are seeking

We seek fast-learning candidates with 3+ years of experience in a communications/marketing position. Other relevant applications will also be considered.

We are looking for candidates with a genuine passion for editing and communicating about innovation, science and technology. You must be able to understand complex technical language and translate it into commercial copy for a wider audience.  

The successful candidate will be an efficient multitasker and great team player, with the ability to quickly prioritise and organise their tasks.

The following is essential:

  • Background and profile: studies in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or Sustainability are preferred. We seek candidates with 3+ years of relevant professional experience in communications and/or project management
  • Languages: Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, is essential, as almost all of our assignments are conducted in English. Fluency in German or Dutch would be a strong plus. Additionally, we value fluency in our clients’ native languages, including Spanish and French. 
  • Soft skills: we expect a great deal of autonomy and proactivity, being able to communicate professionally with partners and clients, and managing and leading discussions and public presentations.

  • Figma or similar design/prototyping platform

  • Any experience or interest in photography is a plus
