Las mujeres racializadas se alzan. Sus t\u00fanicas azul marino ondean como agua contenida, como un eco del oc\u00e9ano que las nombra. En la penumbra del altar, sus cuerpos son presencia y memoria, s\u00edmbolos de resistencia en un espacio que las devuelve al centro, al lugar sagrado que nunca debieron abandonar. Aqu\u00ed, el rito es justicia. El rezo, un conjuro.<\/p>

Presentada en el Museo da Hist\u00f3ria e da Cultura Afro-Brasileira, esta performance de Glez configura el imaginario de Yemay\u00e1, la diosa del mar en la cosmovisi\u00f3n yoruba, cuyas aguas sostienen la vida y acogen la memoria de quienes han sido silenciadas. En este contexto, la obra establece un di\u00e1logo entre espiritualidad, identidad y resistencia. M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la celebraci\u00f3n de lo sagrado, la pieza se sit\u00faa en un espacio de denuncia: en un mundo donde el n\u00famero de feminicidios sigue marcando cuerpos ausentes, las mujeres aqu\u00ed no son m\u00e1rtires, sino diosas. No se les llora, se les venera.<\/p>

El pedestal, s\u00edmbolo hist\u00f3rico del poder, se reconfigura como altar y se convierte en un espacio de justicia simb\u00f3lica. Si hist\u00f3ricamente sostener una estatua significaba sostener un r\u00e9gimen de dominio, aqu\u00ed las mujeres suben al pedestal no como objeto de contemplaci\u00f3n, sino como una reclamaci\u00f3n de un espacio que les ha sido arrebatado. La puesta en escena se construye a partir de cuerpos en movimiento, la repetici\u00f3n de gestos rituales y la presencia de elementos asociados a la espiritualidad ancestral.<\/p>

“Prayers, Rituals, and Altars” transcends ephemeral action, leaving behind a visual testimony in a photographic series. The images serve as fragments of a ritual that persists: portraits of the artist, still lifes of altars, women in tunics evoking water, and ceremony. The female body rises, is sanctified, and is inscribed in history as an invulnerable divinity. This work is part of an exploration of the body, memory, and spirituality, proposing a milestone for precolonial cultures through a contemporary lens. With a strong feminist anchor, Glez creates a visual and performative language that rewrites history from its roots, integrating resistance and ancestral worship into a space of representation and symbolic justice. Here, the sea does not drag; it returns. And the women, like it, refuse to be forgotten.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
